Full Day, Five Days a Week Program (Half Day option available)
We are excited to welcome our littlest learners into our 4K and 5K classrooms. Albany Schools offer full-day, five-day-a-week 4-year-old kindergarten (half-day option also available). If a family wants their child to attend half days, the child can attend the morning half from 7:45 until 11:00 when the majority of our core, early learning instruction occurs.

Our teachers use engaging, hands-on activities to target early learning, including literacy, math, communication, fine motor and social skills. Students also get to experience our ‘specials’ classes, including art, music, gym and library, as well as recess, snack times, lunch time, and rest time. Play at recess and in the classroom is an important part of their development.

Birthday: To enroll in 4K, a child must be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the year the child will enter school.  For 5K, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1 of the year the child will enter school.

Families can apply to open enroll into a district outside of the one in which they live during the state's annual Open Enrollment program window, which is generally from the first week of February through April 30.

Parents / guardians are responsible to provide transportation to and from school in the nonresident school district, except that transportation required in a child’s IEP must be provided by the nonresident school district. Learn more about open enrollment transportation rules.
