🌟 JUMPSTART DAY! 🌟
The Albany School District kicked off the upcoming school year with Jumpstart Day—an optional day dedicated to connection, fun, and friendship!
💚 Elementary Students spent the morning getting to know their teachers, learning classroom routines, and building comfort with the flow of the day. In the afternoon, they rotated through exciting activities with staff and classmates—smiles all around!
💚 Middle & High School Students headed to Devil’s Lake for an adventurous day filled with canoeing, geo-caching, swimming, food, laughter, and lasting connections.
It was a wonderful way to begin the year together—strengthening friendships, building community, and setting a positive tone for success.

Albany families were able to select needed school supplies for their children at our Back to School night, thanks to a generous donation of supplies from the Albany Lions Club. In all, the Lions Club collected supplies and monetary donations totaling over $1,400 during their Stuff the Bus campaign. We are grateful for such a giving community.

For our Jumpstart Day, 4th and 5th grade students used math and science skills to create name tags that had to meet the following criteria: must hold a pencil, be 6in long, stand on its own, show their name, and show 2 things about themselves.

The Albany Comets HS volleyball team has a scrimmage on Saturday, August 23rd @ Evansville HS. The varsity will scrimmage at 9:00am & 11:00am, while the JV will scrimmage at 10:00am. Admission is free to this scrimmage & you will have an opportunity to get a sneak peek of your 2025 Lady Comets volleyball team!

Congratulations to Mr. Koplin!
This summer, Mr. Koplin participated in the College Preparatory Mathematics (CPM) Academy of Best Practices in San Diego. The 5-day institute is designed to help teachers deepen their understanding of the richness and rigor in CPM lessons while also providing the opportunity to collaborate with CPM educators from across the country. We appreciate his dedication and look forward to seeing him in action.
