Parkview-Albany HS Girls Wrestling
Starts on Monday, November 17th....

Good afternoon,
Due to the recent snowfall and resulting damp conditions, along with a forecast calling for temperatures in the low 30s, we will be moving our event to the alternate date — Wednesday, November 12th.
The forecast for Wednesday looks much more favorable for yard work, with dry weather and temperatures in the mid to upper 40s.
We sincerely appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we make this adjustment. Our Fall Cleanup is a wonderful opportunity for our staff and students to come together and serve our community, and we want everyone to have the best experience possible.
Thank you again for your support — we can’t wait to see everyone on Wednesday!
With gratitude,
Robert Kostroun

FINAL REMINDER
*Due date to order your HOOPS FOR HAZEL apparel is Thursday, November 13th*
(Albany Alum Payton Wachholz)
Hello everyone! I am currently a senior at UW-Madison, studying Consumer Science, with three certificates in Entrepreneurship, Digital Studies, and Business. I am currently completing the final class to fulfill my Entrepreneurship certificate, and our semester-long project consists of designing, marketing, and selling a t-shirt that we made.
For the GBB game on December 2nd vs Argyle-Pecatonica, we will be hosting a "Hoops for Hazel" event, in honor of Hazel Ommodt, an amazing woman who I had the honor to grow up with, so much so, she is like another grandmother to me. Below is a message from one of her daughters, Tonya Ommodt Zurfluh, on her health journey leading up to the present day.
"Grandma Hazel" is not one who wants to be the center of attention, but her love for being a strong supporter of athletics for the past 50+ years is undeniable, beginning with her daughters, granddaughters, grandson, nieces, nephews, family, and literally everyone along the way.
Grandma Hazel’s health has become very complicated as she’s navigated the many struggles her body has been experiencing. Just over 25 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. With an aggressive plan of surgeries and chemotherapy, she managed to beat it. That diagnosis resulted, however, to a road of many other health concerns along the way. The most serious came here in March of this year. A significant scare and stay in the hospital left us learning Grandma Hazel has severe congestive heart failure and Stage 4 chronic kidney disease.
These past months have included many serious stays at the hospital as the doctors have aimed to manage her conditions. Because her heart is not strong and doesn’t pump efficiently, one outcome is fluid filling in her lungs causing breathing troubles. Medications to support these issues mean complications for her kidneys and other organs. It becomes a very challenging situation as the doctor’s work to control all she has going on.
With that said, there is not a way to improve her conditions, just manage it. We are praying for as much time as possible with Grandma Hazel as she continues her fight."
Not only will this be a night full of energetic, competitive basketball versus two conference rivals, but a night to show support to someone who has positively impacted all of us in one way or another. Any profit will be used to create a scholarship to support a student athlete!
The link to the t-shirt storefront will be posted below, and because of the timeline and shipping prices, all shirts will be shipped to Albany Schools. As the game day date approaches, I will organize pick-up dates and times for everyone to receive their order. The store closes on Thursday, November 13th! I ask that everyone save their order confirmation email, so I can ensure everyone receives the correct order.
We hope to see everyone out there on December 2nd, showing support for Hazel!

After completing their Kandinsky-inspired apple project, our 3rd grade artists were given a special challenge to create an apple using their imagination, with no limits or restrictions! Students were free to use any materials they wanted; the only cue was to be creative.
The results were amazing! We saw apples transformed into unique creations from patterned designs and apple-shaped gloves to apple rings, ukuleles, and many more inventive ideas. It was wonderful to see the students’ creativity shine through in such imaginative ways. We truly enjoyed seeing our 3rd graders’ creativity come to life!
