The first graders have been very busy in math creating a quilt. We learned about patterns, counting by fives, and fractions. Thank you Ms.Jolene for helping with this fun project and making a quilt square for each student to take home.

Last Wednesday Albany had the honor of hosting the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras' Concert Orchestra. Our K-12 students and staff were witness to a stellar performance by middle/high school students as they WYSO made their tour all around southern WI. Hope to see them again!

Lilly Clason and Alana Durtschi each won individual awards at the UW Platteville Math Meet. Lilly placed 1st among all division 4 freshmen and sophomores, and Alana tied for 3rd place among all division 4 juniors and seniors (roughly 100 people in each level). Congratulations!

The official results are in from the UW Platteville Math Meet! The Albany math team tied for 3rd place out of 14 different teams competing with a score of 250 points (the first and second place teams tied with a score of 270 points each).

Congratulations to Scott Keepers on receiving one of seven state awards for distinguished service last night at the WADA Convention. Scott was recognized for the time and effort he puts in to allow Albany athletes opportunities in running. The WADA Service Award was presented at the Kalahari Convention Center. Scott was joined by family and friends from the Albany community. Congratulations Scott!

Art, FACS, and Spanish classes collaborated this week on a Day of the Dead craft for some of our younger students! Spanish students taught about what Day of the Dead is, and then helped art students make sugar skulls. FACS students whipped up the icing used for decorating!
