The Albany School District would like to send out a special "THANKS" to Kranig Excavating Inc. for their recent donation of labor, machinery, & material on the Albany Harvey Kopp Softball Diamond. This softball diamond is used by many youth, middle school, & high school aged softball players for practices and games. Kranig Excavating Inc. recently completed some landscape leveling, added ag lime & sand, and hauled off numerous truck loads of fill to beautify and update the diamond. Kranig Excavating Inc. has many family connections to our school district through their ownership & employees and our "COMET FAMILY" truly appreciates their kindness & support.
Today our District was able to participate in something extraordinary! Small schools cooperating to maximize positive experiences in music is unique to our communities. JAM (Juda, Albany, and Monticello) bands preparing for this weekend's Cheese Days Parade performance. Three school districts joining together to create beautiful music!

Albany High School is pleased to accept nominations for inductions into the Albany Comets Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominees should be people who have had a positive/significant impact to Albany athletics over the years. A nominee may have had an impact to Albany athletics as an athlete, coach, fan, volunteer or in some other capacity.
Nominations will be accepted starting on Friday, September 13th & will end on Friday, October 18th. Once the nomination period ends on October 18th, a committee will be formed to evaluate all nominations. The evaluation process will narrow nominations down to a chosen three inductees into the 12th Hall of Fame Class. The three inductees and/or the people that nominated the inductees will be contacted and given more information about the actual induction ceremony. Once a nomination is made for a nominee, that nomination will stay in the rotation for future years of inductions if they aren’t inducted this first year. (They won’t have to be re-nominated in future years.)
People making nominations will be contacted in late October or early November to inform them on whether or not their nominee will be inducted this year. Albany has a long and rich athletics history and we invite you to nominate people from all time periods.
The following is established criteria for making a nomination:
Name, address, & phone number of the person making the nomination.
First & last name of the nominee.
A typed or written letter explaining who your nominee is & what they accomplished, or the significant impact that they had on Albany HS Athletics. This portion of the criteria should be completed in two pages or less!

The Kindergarten classes performed for the first time in music class this week! They worked on being an active performer and following a director. Students came up with their own movements for their performance of the song "March of the Ducks".
Parkview-Albany HS football will host Westfield this Friday, September 13th @ Parkview HS. (7:00pm) The student dress-up theme for this Friday is CONSTRUCTION WORKER! Get your hard helmets, safety vests, & other construction themed attire for this dress-up opportunity. Parkview Boosters will have safety vests for sale for $2 per vest at the game.
Our 4K students are getting their day started!

Mr. Kostroun enters the hall of fame after a 24 year legendary coaching career as the head wrestling coach at Evansville High School. On Friday, September 6th our Parkview-Albany HS football team hosts Palmyra-Eagle. This is a home game that will be played at Parkview HS with a start time of 7:00pm. The dress up theme for MS/HS students is "NEON NIGHT!" Albany MS/HS students that are going to the game should join the student section with your NEON theme. Go Vikings!

The Albany School District would like to thank the Jolly Mixers Youth 4H organization for adding some perennials to our beautiful STATE CHAMPIONSHIP signage on both sides of Albany. A specific thank you to Michelle Monson & Liz Niemeier for taking the lead on this project. The Jolly Mixers will continue to care for the flowers each year moving forward. Your dedication to Albany is greatly appreciated!
JUMPSTART DAY#2 - Making Memories!
On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the Albany School District Board of Education formally approved a resolution seeking a 3-year, non-recurring operational referendum. Information about the referendum can be found on the District website (www.albany.k12.wi.us).
The District will provide multiple avenues and opportunities to receive information and have questions answered about the referendum. We look forward to working with our community throughout this process.
We are seeking volunteers for a Quilt Award Committee to honor a local veteran!
As Veteran’s Day approaches, we are excited to announce an opportunity for community members to participate in a meaningful and heartfelt project. We are forming a Quilt Award Committee to select a deserving veteran (out of many) to receive a handcrafted quilt at this year’s Veteran’s Day celebration. The Quilt Award Committee will be responsible for taking nominations of local veterans, establishing selection criteria, and choosing the recipient based on the set criteria.
