PARKVIEW-ALBANY YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL sign-up started last night! You have two more opportunities to get your student signed up if they are interested in playing youth flag football this Fall. This opportunity is for boys and girls that will be entering grades 2nd - 6th in the 2024-2025 school year. League Information: $65 player fee which includes jersey and flags. Games are on Saturday mornings in Brodhead from September 7th - October 12th. Practices are 1-2 days a week starting the last week of August. Sign-Up Dates: August 1st from 8:00-8:30pm at the Parkview HS football field or August 6th from 6:00-7:30pm in the Parkview HS Commons Area. Interested players must have a parent/guardian attend one of these sign up meetings. No late registrations will be allowed. The Albany School District will be closed on Wednesday, July 31st to allow for internet and phone updates. We will reopen on Thursday, August 1st, and will work to respond to emails and phone calls as soon as possible.

COMET ELITE 2024 Great work this summer!

This important information is for any MS/HS students interested in playing MS or HS football this Fall for Parkview-Albany. MS football is for students that will be entering grades seven or eight this upcoming school year. There will be a mandatory parent/athlete meeting on Monday, August 5th @ 5:30pm at Parkview HS. This is for all Albany MS/HS players that are interested in playing football this Fall. There will be a general meeting before splitting into specific HS football & MS football groups. During those specific meetings, coaches will be giving specific information about their upcoming seasons. (Calendars, expectations, etc...) All players must attend along with a parent or guardian to represent them. Whether your student is planning on playing MS or HS football there are a few items that they MUST have completed by the first day of practice: WIAA Physical must be completed. (Athletes must have a documented physical every two years. If your athlete had a physical last year, the alternate year card is sufficient!) Check with Mr. Doescher if you have any questions about the status of your student's physical record. Athletic Fees must be paid. (MS Fee ~ $20 / HS Fee ~ $40) School registration must be completed. HS Football Start Date: Tuesday, August 6th (Practice will be from 4:00-7:30pm) MS Football Start Date: Monday, August 12th (Schedules will be handed out at the meeting on Monday, August 5th)

The Six Rivers Volleyball Showdown All-Star game will take place this Friday, July 12th @ Barneveld HS. The all-star match will be five sets in length and action will start at 6:30pm. Albany HS will be well represented in this event as Myah Johnson, Avary Briggs, & Alana Durtschi will represent the Six Rivers East team. All admissions for this all-star event will be donated to the UW Children's Hospital on behalf of the Six Rivers Conference. Get to Barneveld HS on Friday night to support these three amazing young ladies! GO COMETS!!!

Some of the ways we've been keeping busy at summer school!

Middle School Students spent their last day of Summer School fishing in Monticello. The fish were small but the smiles were big and much fun was had by all.

"A legacy is something that a person leaves behind for everyone to remember!" Wednesday, June 26th marked the final time that Alana Durtschi laced up her basketball shoes in her prep career. Alana competed in the WBCA State All-Star Game as a member of the D5 South team. In typical Alana fashion, the south all-stars defeated the north all-stars in a battle at the JAG Fieldhouse in the Wisconsin Dells. Alana finishes her remarkable career with a 96-12 career record in addition to conference and state all-star game victories. Individually, Alana will go down as one of the most prolific girls' basketball players to come out of Albany. Alana finished her career in the TOP 3 of all of the following individual statistical categories: (Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals) She was named all-conference three times, conference POY twice, D5 1st team all-state twice, & eclipsed the 1,000 point mark. As a leader of the team, Alana's team accomplishments include: Four time regional champion, two time conference champion, four time sectional finalist, two time state qualifier, & STATE CHAMPION! Thank you for the memories, dedication, leadership, & the legacy that you have left the Albany "Comets" & Albany-Monticello "Space Stallions" for years to come!

Summer school has been a blast! Tomorrow, Thursday, June 27th, is our final day of elementary and middle school classes. Students will celebrate with an ice cream treat at the end of the day. Theo's Treats Ice Cream Truck will be open for sales to the community starting at 12:00!

Oh, we were pretty excited at summer school when our card towers actually held the items we tested!
