7th Grades students made bubbles to compare a circle's diameter and circumference and find they are always related by a factor of pi. Then they derived the formula of circumference to be pi multiplied by diameter.

Another exciting day for the Albany School District. Today we had our Quarter 2 C.A.R.E Assembly. 28 Albany students were acknowledged today for their outstanding achievement. 36 additional students had their C.A.R.E coupons pulled to claim remarkable gifts. There is something so SPECIAL when our schools all come together(4K-12) and we acknowledge our magnificent students. We also welcomed six new students to the Iron Comet 500 pound club. Way to go Comet Nation!

Our 4K students have gone above and beyond our expectations in their quests to each read 1000 books before kindergarten. In all, over 5,300 books have been read at school and at home so far this year! This group reached another milestone in their challenge this week.
Tonight's Albany boys basketball varsity game vs. Argyle will be covered on the radio. The station of 93.7 WEKZ FM (https://www.bigradio.fm/listen) will be covering the game with pregame coverage starting at 7:00pm and live coverage starting at 7:15pm. The Albany-Monticello HS girls basketball games start times scheduled for Monday, January 22nd have been moved up due to possible inclement weather. The JV girls game will start at 5:30pm and the varsity game at approximately 6:45pm at Albany HS.
