Xello (formerly Career Cruising) Advisory Calendar and Lesson Topics

Middle School Advisory Model
Advisories are a mix of students in grades 6-8 and each teacher has approximately 12-15 students.  Students will stay with the same advisor throughout middle school.  Activities that students will be participating in during middle school advisory include Academic and Career Planning lessons, relationship building, and making connections within the school on Mondays and Fridays.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays students are reading a book of their choice.

High School Advisory Model
Students are with their class advisor most of the week.  Mondays consist of Academic and Career Planning lessons, class meetings, and other possible meetings.  Tuesdays are study skills, test prep, organization, and digital citizenship for freshman and sophomores.  Juniors will have ACT test prep on Tuesdays up until the ACT in February.  On Thursdays and Fridays students are reading a book of their choice in their class advisory.  Seniors are only required to be in advisory on Mondays for meetings and, if they meet the GPA requirement, they do not need to be here on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday during advisory time.
