Today is a B day

Students in MS Band and Choir:  5th hour is 7/8th grade Band Day and 6th grade Choir.

Today is a 6th grade Music Appreciation and PE day

Today is an 8th grade Media day

Everyone is invited to the Senior Class Pasta Dinner TONIGHT in the cafeteria. Join us for some great pasta (spaghetti, mac n cheese, and alfredo)!  Serving from 4:30pm -7:30pm.  Then cheer on the girls to a victory over Juda!

THIS FRIDAY is the end of 2nd Quarter & 1st Semester.  Are all your assignments turned in?  

Final exams for periods 1, 3, 5 & 7 will be held Thursday and periods 2, 4, 6 & 8 will be Friday.  Elementary Students will go to lunch 10 minutes early.  Recess will end the same time as usual.  HS goes to lunch at 11:20-11:50 but cannot enter the cafeteria for lunch until 11:30.  MS goes to lunch from 12:00-12:30. 

Finals Procedures:  All students need to be on time.  No tardies will be excused unless the student is walked to class by the principal or hall monitor with special permission.  If a student comes to class late, they will be turned away and special arrangements will have to be made to make up the exam. Each class is 90 minutes. No students are allowed in the halls during exams for any reason. If a student is removed for behavior problems, they may be sent home and required to make up any exams. Rescheduling exams will only be allowed with the permission of the principal and the teacher. No students are allowed to leave class early.  HS students who have 1st or 2nd hour study hall must be in school as usual and 7th or 8th hour study halls must stay at school.    

Softball open gyms will start Sunday, January 20th at Juda. If interested in riding in the school van, it will leave at 12:30pm and be back to Albany around 3:30pm.  Let Mr. Doescher know by next Friday if you will be riding in the school van.  This is for all softball players Freshman through Seniors and is encouraged but not required.  Looking forward to a very exciting season!!!  ALL OPEN GYMS ARE FROM 1:00 – 3:00 Sundays January 20 in Juda; January 27 in Juda; February 3 in Juda; February 10 in Albany; February 17 in Albany; February 24 in Albany; March 3 in Juda; March 10 in Juda.  Contacts are Bill Davis 608-558-8020/ Denise Doescher 608-214-4765/ Jim Briggs 608-558-0088

The Albany cross country team is hosting the 26th annual Baertschi Invite TOMORROW.  High school and middle school runners run the first six races beginning at 9:00 with an open class running at noon.  Come on out to support our teams! 
Tonight will mark the end of an era of EA home football games.  It will be Senior Night and for one final home game the communities of Evansville & Albany will come together to support the EA Blue Devil program.  This season has had many obstacles & adversity and yet through it all Evan Blumer has stayed committed and dedicated to the EA Blue Devil football program.  His leadership, effort, & dedication exemplifies what senior leadership & being a captain is all about.  On behalf of the Albany School District we would like to thank you Evan for your dedication and commitment & we wish you the best on Senior Night!  Game time tonight is 7:00pm at Evansville HS vs. McFarland.  Get over to Evansville to cheer on Evan and all of the Blue Devils.  "When all the dust settles it will be my dedication, leadership, & effort that will be remembered."

If you plan on bringing a guest to the Homecoming dance who is not from our school you need to have the proper form filled out and turned in to the office by the end of the day next Thursday. Forms are available from Mrs. Uhe.
Blackhawk Technical College is hosting Tech Exploration Days to get first-hand experience and information about different departments during October.  If you are interested please see Ms. Schulz THIS WEEK for more information. 
 
Albany High School is pleased to accept nominations for inductions into the Albany Comets Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominees should be people who have had a positive/significant impact to Albany athletics over the years. A nominee may have had an impact to Albany athletics as an athlete, coach, fan, volunteer or in some other capacity. A typed or written letter explaining who your nominee is and what they accomplished or the significant impact that they had on Albany HS Athletics can be given to Mr. Doescher. Nominations will be accepted until October 15th.
